( typically nate only ever really reaches out to jean with his mind when it comes to telepathic conversations, but when he feels like this is the more safer of ways in terms of communication, he makes exceptions to whose mind he brushes across with his thoughts. he lets his presence be known so as not to be entirely jarring with a brush of psychic fingers through imaginary hair, like he'd done when wade had let his friend take his scars away. )

( nate's sitting on the ledge of one of the higher buildings in the city and just... sitting, really. sitting and thinking and trying not to think. he comes up here to drown out the noise of everyone else around him, but. finds it doesn't work much when trying to drown out his own thoughts, so. after awhile of just replaying everything over and over again in his head, he reaches out to wade with his mind. a gentle brush of ghost-like fingers through hair that isn't there any longer on the other mutant. )

( since wade and scott had moved to their private housing in the down, sleepovers between them had become a little less frequent than when they both lived in the up apartments, albeit different floors. still, nate stops by at times, wade comes over other times, and with neither scott nor midnighter around, nate has most certainly stopped by.

( it just seems easier to do it this way. for a second or two, wade might feel the sensation of hairs raising on the back of his neck, or goosebumps rolling across his skin. things one typically feels when it feels as if someone is suddenly in their personal space — when they're being watched. )
