( head still spinning, it takes nate a second or two to realize what's happened. that he'd passed out for a couple of seconds from the overuse of his powers so much in one night; drained and not having been more acutely aware of that.
when he comes to after that second or two of being unconscious, he realizes that he's falling β that he and wade are falling and he panics, just for a second, before he twists and reaches out with his hand to catch wade. telepathically.
but nothing happens and that panic settles back in when he realizes that he hasn't caught wade. that he hasn't caught himself. )

( it's only at the last second that he digs deep enough to rip up some of his sleeping power and he just barely catches himself... but not wade. dropping down quickly, he hits the ground with a resounding thud, almost cracking the pavement around him from the telekinetic force and he runs over to where wade had hit the ground. )

( and he's left coming to an abrupt halt β stricken with horror at the sight of the other. )
